Day 4: Piano Movers and the North Coast

We started the day to a knock, knock, knock. Karen needed to move our car for the piano movers! I dressed in a hurry to watch the action. She told us that she was giving her Yamaha piano to a family with a child. The moving took 4 guys about an hour. Exciting times for the lovely boudoir grand!

This is how you move a piano— carefully with lots of muscle!
Karen and John at the house while I record amazing bird sounds from Karen’s (secret) garden.

We had breakfast and packed up slowly so as not to miss a minute of the action. I took time to go visit the horses, especially Lovett, the new Highland pony (to befriend the queen’s Highland pony, Lomand Balmoral—oo la la!) Dear Mr. McCleod was resting in the hay, while the Appaloosa at the end, stuck his head out for a pet, anxious for attention.

The very famous Balmoral Lomand, formerly the queen’s own!
Merlin, the beautiful appaloosa, covered in carrot-colored spots.

Soon, we were on the road, heading north toward Dundee, then toward Kingussie, then to Boat of Garden Golf Club (where we stopped for lunch), then to Granton Spey, then to Lossiemouth and finally to the Golf View Hotel— a true name. We have a view!
